Two antique porcelain birds by Dresden porcelain maker Meissen. They have been sitting in this Victorian birdcage ever since I can remember and simply refuse to go despite the open door. Behind is an oil-painting by Dutch landscape artist Ingrid Simons (1976) called Jardin I. This air of calm and mystery is typical of her work. It brings melancholy memories of sitting in a chair at Jardin de Luxembourg in Paris at the end of an afternoon. Check her website: www.ingridsimons.com
